They want to resume the criminal case against the amnestied Daniil Konstantinov

The parents of nationalist Daniil Konstantinov, who was accused of murder and granted amnesty in 2014, received an urgent telephone message from the Supreme Court. They were informed that a court hearing had been scheduled to reopen the criminal case against Konstantinov “due to newly discovered circumstances,” the activist said on Facebook.

“I don’t know what exactly this is connected with. Maybe with the exposure of the provocateur and intelligence agent Solovy, or maybe with the activities of the Russian European Movement, which we launched in Lithuania. Or with participation in the Free Russia Forum in Vilnius. One thing I can say for sure is that as soon as I became a little more active and visible than before, the intelligence services in Russia returned to my question,” he wrote.

The leader of the Moscow Defense League movement, Daniil Konstantinov, was accused of murder. The prosecutor asked to sentence him to 10 years in prison. At the same time, Konstantinov himself stated that at the time of the murder he was at a family feast, evidence of which was the testimony of witnesses and photographs.

The court reclassified the charge against the nationalist as hooliganism, found him guilty, sentenced him to three years in prison and granted amnesty in accordance with the amnesty law dedicated to Constitution Day on December 12, 2014. Fearing further persecution by the state, Konstantinov left Russia.
