A volunteer from Alexei Navalny’s headquarters was detained in Novosibirsk

In Novosibirsk on the morning of October 11, police detained one of the volunteers of Navalny’s local headquarters, Dmitry Peshkov. He was leaving the entrance of his own house when several police officers approached him and forced him to go with them to the Central Department of Internal Affairs. This was reported in the group “Team Navalny | Novosibirsk".

The police drew up two reports against Dmitry Peshkov for violating the rules of participation in public rallies (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) on two counts: for the action on September 30 and the action on October 7 . After completing the paperwork, the volunteer was released from the police. An employee of Alexei Navalny’s headquarters in Novosibirsk told OVD-Info about this over the phone.

Earlier in the morning, Open Russia wrote about the attempt to detain Kristina Zhdanova, the wife of activist Sergei Boyko, who was sentenced to four days on October 10. After Zhdanova locked herself in the car and demanded a clear explanation from the police about what was happening, she was given a summons for October 12 to draw up a report on violation of the rules of participation in the rally (which rally was meant was not specified), and they did not detain her.

On October 10, in Novosibirsk, police also detained two of Navalny’s supporters: an employee of the politician’s election headquarters, Marina Varevoda, and a volunteer, Anton Kartavin.

The authorities of Novosibirsk refused to coordinate the action on October 7 and did not provide an alternative site for it. According to the local headquarters, the mayor's office explained this by saying that “Navalny cannot be a presidential candidate, therefore events in his support are illegal.”
