In the village of Balukhar, Irkutsk Region, Ksenia Antipina, recently fired from her post as school principal, was attacked for refusing to campaign in the municipal elections. This is reported by Radio Liberty with reference to Antipina herself.
According to the woman, she was attacked by Sergei Semenov, brother of the mayor of the city of Cheremkhovo, Vadim Semenov.
On October 11, in the center of Cheremkhovo, a man in a black jeep cut off Antipina's father's car and beat them with the words "you were asked to shut up." After the incident, they turned to the traffic police, where they learned that the jeep belonged to the mayor's brother, a member of the city duma from the United Russia party, Sergei Semenov. Antipins wrote a statement to the police and removed the beatings. In the department, as noted by the victims, they did not immediately agree to issue a notice of acceptance of the application.
Earlier, Radio Liberty reports, Ksenia Antipina and another school principal, Leonid Zavozin, complained about the demands to campaign for local candidates before the elections, who were supported by the head of the Cheremkhovo district, a member of United Russia, Viktor Poboikin. After refusing to participate in the campaign, the Department of Education did not renew the employment contracts with Antipova and Imported.
