Explosions in Mogadisho: 231 deceased

In the center of the capital, Somalia Mogadisho took place two explosions, 231 people died. More than 275 people were injured, reports Reuters. The attacks occurred on Saturday.

First, the explosive truck exploded near the hotel at one of the intersections, near which there are government buildings, restaurants and kiosks. Several buildings were destroyed, hundreds of cars burned.

Two hours later, another explosion occurred in the Medin region.

According to the Minister of Information Somali Abdiraman Osman, the Saturday explosions became the largest attack of terrorists in the history of Mogadisho.

Not a single radical organization has yet taken responsibility for the attack. As noted, similar terrorist attacks in Mogadisho and other parts of the country regularly committed the local Harakat Ash-Shabab associated with al-Qaeda. The movement is fighting against the Provisional Government of the country recognized by the UN and from 2007 to 2011 controlled the capital.

Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed declared a three -day mourning.
