The special services detained four supporters of IG*who prepared large terrorist attacks in Dagestan

In Moscow and Makhachkala on October 13 and 14, four members of the so -called sleeping cell of the Islamic State terrorist group were detained. According to the statement of the National Anti -Terrorism Committee (NAC), the militants prepared large terrorist attacks on the territory of Dagestan.

"Currently, the detainees give detailed indications about their contacts with the emissaries ISIS*, as well as the preparation of resonant terrorist acts using homemade explosive devices and cold weapons in the Dagestan Republic," the NAC reported (quote for Interfax ).

The department noted that the militants planned to arrange explosions in places of mass stay of people during large public events. In addition, supporters of IG* prepared attempts on the lives of law enforcement officers and the military.

Law enforcement officers managed to find two cache belonging to criminals. They contained three ready -made explosive devices.

In the operation to detain the attackers, security agencies together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia took part. At the moment, the issue of initiating a criminal case is being decided.

Recall that at the end of August the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia announced the detention in Moscow and the Moscow Region two immigrants from Central Asia, who are members of the Islamic State* and preparing terrorist attacks on September 1.

The FSB said that one of the detainees on the eve of the day of knowledge posted on the Internet a video message to members of the Islamic State*.

“In this appeal, he gave the so -called allegiance to terrorists. After that, the newly -made member of the MTO“ IG ”* planned to attack civilians using cold weapons. In his phone, contacts were found with the recruiters of this organization and instructions for the planned crime,” the department said.
