Maxim Lapunov lived in Chechnya for two years. On March 16, 2017, he was detained by the Chechen security officials. He was held for almost two weeks in one of the basements, presumably, the criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Chechen Republic - another so -called “secret prison” of Chechnya. They mocked him only for one reason: Maxim - Gay. He was tortured, demanding to pass the same gays like him. He was beaten for the fact that he, Russian, came to Chechnya and “spoiled” Chechens.
