In Austria, on October 15, parliamentary elections were held, in which the conservative Austrian People’s Party won. Conservatives scored 31.4% of the vote. Republic talks very briefly about the most significant election results.

Conservatives won the elections for the first time in 15 years. Prior to this, the last three national elections were excited by their traditional rivals from the Social Democratic Party. Those, in turn, based on the results of voting took only third place, although in percentage they received almost as many votes as in previous elections.

Anti -Islamists strengthened their positions. Following the strong performance of the ultra -right “Alternatives for Germany”, which scored 12.6% in the Bundestag elections, in Austria, right -wing populists also succeeded. The Austrian Freedom Party took second place with 27.4% of the vote and will now receive 53 places from 183 seats in parliament. The party has already stated that they are hoping to get several places in the government, but it is still unclear whether they will offer her a place in the coalition.

The prime minister of Austria will be 31-year-old Sebastian Kurtz. Over the past four years, Kurtz has been the post of head of the Austria Ministry of Foreign Affairs - in 2013 he became the youngest minister in the history of the country and the youngest chairman of the foreign policy in the world. He began a political career a few years before, having first elected to the city council of Vienna, and then holding the position of Secretary of State in integration matters. Due to early departure to politics, Kurtz had to quit the university, and he still does not have a higher education.

Kurtz will be replaced by the chairman of the State Council of the DPRK Kim Jong -un in the first place of the list of the youngest chapters of states in the world . Kim, who is now from 33 to 35 years (officially his year of birth has not been reported), was the youngest world leader since the end of 2011. The captain-regent San Marino Vanessa d'Ambrosio was ahead of Kim in this ranking from April 1 to October 1, 2017 (the term of powers of the captain-regent is only six months). At the time of the election, she was 29 years old.
