"The government will proceed to the implementation of the order set out in article 155 of the Constitution," the statement said. This article allows you to suspend the powers of local leadership and introduce external management in the region.
The government made a statement after the head of the Catalonia Zeenuralite Carles Puchdemon again ignored the requirement of Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy to answer the question whether he proclaimed the independence of Catalonia from Spain. On Thursday, Puchemdemon confirmed the suspension of the declaration of independence, and also stated that he intends to announce the separation of Catalonia from Spain if Madrid refuses the dialogue on this issue.
The referendum on the independence of Catalonia took place on October 1. According to the autonomy authorities, more than 90 percent of the voted - 2.26 million people spoke from Spain. The next day, the president and 72 deputies out of 135 signed the declaration , but it did not acquire legal force, since it was not voted in parliament. On October 12, Rahoy called the leadership of Catalonia for a week to disavow the document , threatening the administration of the region otherwise.
