In Chelyabinsk, Vasily Moskovets, one of the leaders of the Stop GOK environmental movement, was searched. This was reported to the OVD-Info hotline. It is also known that they are pounding on the door to the activist of the movement, Sergei Belogorokhov. Later, the line was informed that Belogorokhov's house was also being searched.
Earlier, both were interrogated as witnesses in the case of an attempted arson on the construction site of the Tominsky mining and processing plant, which the movement opposes. One of the defendants in the case is an activist of the movement Gamil Asatullin. Employees of the Center for Combating Extremism forced him to testify against Moskovets with threats. Stop GOK activists have previously expressed concern that Moskovets could also face charges.
At the moment, the exact reasons for the search are unknown. On the page of the movement in the social network "VKontakte" it is reported that they also went to the office of Moskovets with a search.
According to Stop GOK activists, there is currently no connection with Asatullin, who is in jail. He is not given letters. Activists suggest that the pressure on him has intensified.
On October 18, in the Leninsky District Court of Chelyabinsk, Moskovets's claim against the prosecutor's office was considered in connection with a forced arrest. On the eve of the uncoordinated rally on September 17, Moskovets was summoned to the prosecutor's office to issue a warning about the inadmissibility of violating the law, and after Moskovets could not appear because he was in court at the appointed time, the prosecutor's office issued a demand for forced bringing. The hearing on the claim of Moskovets was postponed to October 23. On October 30, a lawsuit will be considered in connection with the very warning of the prosecutor's office. According to Moskovets, the prosecutor's office did not present any documents in court confirming the right to a forced drive. The representative of the prosecutor's office only stated to the courts that neither a warning nor a summons violated the rights of Moskovets.
UPD: details of the last search at Vasily Moskavets have appeared. Olga Lepekhina, a lawyer for the human rights group Agora, spoke about them to OVD-Info.
“In the morning, three employees of the Center “E”, two riot police and an investigator came to Vasily Moskovets's home. Then they proceeded to the civil activist's office. They seized a laptop, disks and a flash drive. Vasily Moskovets remains in the status of a witness in the case of Gamil Asatullin, an activist of the STOP GOK movement, who is accused of hooliganism by a group of people by prior conspiracy based on ideological hatred for the “arson of a pile of wood” imputed to him on the territory of the GOK (part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code) ", - said Lepekhina.
The search at the activist’s house took place due to the fact that, according to investigator Alexander Chaprasov, Vasily Moskovets can store “documents, objects and equipment with electronic information that are relevant to the criminal case, and can also store objects and substances whose circulation in the territory Russian Federation is prohibited.
In a conversation with OVD-Info, Moskavets said that today's search "contained all the attributes of a mask show" and that he regards it as an "action of intimidation."
The Muscovite said that everything is in order with him and Sergei Belogorokhov.
