Only 10% of fires in the Primorsky Territory will be liquidated in the first day, said Sergey Didenko, head of the Siberian regional center of the Ministry of Emergencies. This is the lowest indicator in Siberia, the Urals and the Far East.
Didenko called the situation a "real bacchanalia" and accused of the absence of improvements to the district authorities, which "ignore the need to respond to the situation with forest fires." The authorities of the municipalities, according to him, are formally approaching fire and prevention among local residents. At the same time, less than people are attracted to the extinguishing every day: from October 10 to October 18, the number of firefighters decreased from 422 to 144 people.
The Ministry of Emergencies also reported that in Primorye the lowest expenses for fire safety in the forests in the Urals, although 79% of the entire territory of the region is Taiga. This year, less than 130 million rubles were allocated to the fight against fires - this is 70% less than necessary.
Natural fires in Primorye began this month. Now about 2.5 thousand hectares of forest are on fire in the region. Since October 12, a special fire regime has been conducted in the Primorsky Territory, in four municipalities from October 7 - emergency mode.
