20 white bears settled at the Chukchi village

On Chukotka, white bears settled at the village of Rrykaypiy, next to which up to 5 thousand walruses gathered this fall. Several hundreds of individuals died - frightening the predators, they rolled up from the high bank and crashed. Bears out of curiosity approach housing.

The walruses are gone, but 20 bears remain next to the village, the dead animals serve them. Recently, one young bear tried to get into the house and squeezed out the window. Employees of the Scientific and Experimental Center "Sea Animals" and companies "4 seasons" organized duty to preserve the lives of people and animals.

“Only young bears (three to five years old) who have previously seen a person are approaching the dwelling. At this stage, it is enough to be on duty and scare away the animals from the houses. When there is more snow, bears should be driven away by snowmobiles,” said Viktor Nikiforov, expert in white bears.
