Programming Week: In St. Petersburg, schoolchildren created an animated cartoon

On October 15, 2017, in St. Petersburg, as part of the European Week of Programming and the MEET and CODE initiative, a master class “School of Future Programmers” was held. 20 schoolchildren from 8 to 12 years old got acquainted with the basics of work in the Scratch program and tried to create a computer animation using coding.

Scratch is a visual environment for teaching schoolchildren of primary and middle classes programming.

In the first part of the master class, the participants studied the tools, scripts of the program, looked at examples of the implementation of the cartoon. Then young programmers created their own projects, chose characters, designed images and collected in order the whole cartoon.
