"The detainee in Kingisepp, a citizen of Tajikistan Nazarov is suspected of recruiting immigrants from the former Union republics to carry out terrorist activities in Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq, as well as for organizing terrorist attacks in Russia," law enforcement agencies said.
A criminal case has been instituted, which is investigated by the St. Petersburg department of the TFR. During the search, Islamic literature, a gun with cartridges, 50 grams of hash, scales, laptop and communications were seized from Nazarov.
In the Nevsky district of St. Petersburg, a man recruited by Nazarov was also detained. According to the security forces, the terrorists had to undergo training in the camp.
