Former Russian Ambassador to the United States Sergey Kislyak spoke about the tension existing in American politics. This was reported on the website of the NTV channel.
Kislyak noted that now the American political class is suffering from "electrification."
“When the Democrats are fighting the Republicans, part of the Republican Party fights with the White House, part of the administration confronts the other part, when the press, for the most part liberal, fights with the elected president, when the special services throw their firewood into the fire, everything is tense,” the ex-diplomat said.
According to Kislyak, he practically did not think about the scandal that erupted around his figure in the US media, but tried to find ways to establish relations.
“With all these difficulties that arise, not at any stage, not at any turn, we did not close the door to work together on issues that interest Russia,” he explained.
