The presidential election is held in Slovenia

In Slovenia, on Sunday, there are presidential elections, which, as expected, will lead to the re -election of Borut Pahora - a veteran of Slovenian policy, known for the active use of social networks. About 1.7 million voters should choose from nine candidates, including five women, the AP agency from Ljubljana reports. At the same time, the agency notes that Slovenia is a member of the European Union and the birthplace of the First Lady of the United States Melania Trump.

The President of Slovenia is not endowed with executive powers, but offers the candidacy of the Prime Minister, who leads the government, given the opinion of the head of state on important issues. The main opponent of the 53-year-old Pahore is the mayor of the city of Kamnik Maryan Sharet, a former comic actor.

The main topics of the election campaign included economic problems and a border conflict with neighboring Croatia.
