Tatyana Felgenhauer tried to kill. Time to leave disagreements

Tatyana Felgenhauer, journalist Echo of Moscow, was hospitalized after an attempt on her life. Our colleague and friend received a stab in the throat, being in the workplace. We shared with Echo workers and all Russian media employees a feeling of acute anxiety for the fate of Tatyana. We express the hope that she will return to work. And that none of our colleagues will be a victim of new attacks.

By this moment, it is known that the name of the attacker Boris Gritz, he is a citizen of Israel. It is safe to say that he was looking for Felgenhauer and his actions were not spontaneous. The offender needed to get past the guard of the building, which houses the “echo of Moscow”, climb the 14th floor and meet with Felgenhauer in the guest room, where the presenters are often prepared for the air. It is alleged that Grits testified about the “telepathic connection” and the “voices” that he heard after the broadcasts of the Felgenhauer.

Talk about the possible causes of what happened prematurely. Nevertheless, the attempt to kill the journalist Echo of Moscow cannot be evaluated outside the political and media context that has developed in Russia in recent years.

Propaganda did too much to put independent journalism and opposition politicians outlawed, to morally authorize the hunt for them.

The criminal attacks on people of any views, public figures, journalists and politicians should be stopped, “direct action shares” - from green to knives and pistols should become a taboo. Alas, in recent years we have been observing the opposite trend. Calls to the destruction of political opponents become the norm.

The state is systematically eliminated from discussing this problem and attempts to solve it. This means that the only force capable of stopping new Russian violence is to turn the current trend is Russian citizens, we ourselves.

The attempt to kill Tatyana Felgenhauer is the last call to our solidarity. Personal ambitions and old disagreements are secondary. We need to defend the civil world together now. The response to the actions of fanatics should be civilian unity.
