A court in Chita overturned a fine for a Navalny campaign volunteer

The Trans-Baikal Regional Court overturned the decision of the Chernovsky District Court of Chita, which imposed a fine of 500 rubles on the volunteer of the headquarters of Alexei Navalny Marina Savvateeva. Writes about this "Open Russia".

Savvateeva was detained on September 5 for distributing campaign materials in support of Navalny. On September 20, the court found the activist guilty of disobeying a lawful order of a police officer (Part 1, Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and fined her 500 rubles. In court, the police officers who detained Savvateeva said that they suspected her of being a wanted woman aged 30-35. The court did not take into account the activist's arguments that she was 57 years old and that the police officers did not substantiate the demand to show documents.

In addition to Savvateyeva, three more activists were detained that day. They were released without drawing up protocols. At the same time, according to the coordinator of the headquarters, Mikhail Fayzrakhmanov, they distributed newspapers and leaflets on Labor Square, which is a Hyde Park - public events on it do not need to be coordinated.
