A protocol was drawn up against Dmitry Gudkov about campaigning on the day of municipal elections

An administrative protocol was drawn up against politician Dmitry Gudkov on holding an election campaign outside the campaign period. This was reported by RBC with reference to the response of the Moscow City Electoral Committee to the complaint of Alexander Zakuskin, co-founder of the Russia Chooses monitoring project.

In the complaint, Zakuskin pointed out that on September 10, Gudkov, through Twitter, Facebook and VKontakte, distributed links to the gudkov.ru website, which contained calls to vote for certain candidates in the municipal elections.

The co-founder of "Russia Chooses" also complained about the campaigning of the LDPR party. But the Moscow City Election Committee considered that their campaign contained only a call to join the party, but not to vote for it.

The head of Gudkov's headquarters, Maxim Katz, said that the politician's team campaigned for the turnout, and this is not a violation. He connected the decision of the Moscow City Electoral Committee with the fact that the Liberal Democratic Party does not pose a threat to the government, because it did not win the elections.
