The case of a former lawyer from Miass was sent to court. He is accused of extremism

In Miass, on October 16, a criminal investigation was completed against former lawyer Aidar Kuchukov, accused of inciting national hatred (Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code). The criminal case was transferred to the Miass City Court, the SOVA information and analytical center reports .

According to the prosecutor's office, Kuchukov commented on news from various media and wrote “about the inevitability of the imminent defeat of the Russian Armed Forces in Syria, about the vulnerability of our weapons, about the anti-people regime of Vladimir Putin and the imminent increase in popular protest with the aim of changing power.”

The case file states that in 2016, Kuchukov, on the “My World” social network, “imposed provocative topics on participants in the dialogue that were different from those discussed, and posted messages based on national hatred,” and also made offensive comments about Russians.

It is clarified that for the news about the release of a Russian smartphone, he wrote a comment “about the illegal actions of the FSB in Crimea, the anti-people annexation of the peninsula and the deterioration of life in Russia because of this.”

As the SOVA Center notes, such expression of opinion on political issues does not fall within the scope of Art. 282 of the Criminal Code.

According to Znak.com, Aidar Kuchukov is a former investigator at the Miass police department and a former lawyer. He was deprived of his status due to significant violations of the interests of his client in a criminal case. Kuchukov adheres to opposition views.
