Programming Week: In St. Petersburg, they created a bot to work with donors

On October 13 and 14, 2017, in St. Petersburg, in the framework of the European Week of Programming andthe MEET and CODE initiative, the HacATON of social applications “Sam” was held.

Hakaton was held in the Olympus laboratory on the basis of the St. Petersburg National Research University of Iformation Technologies, Mechanics and Optics . For two days, beginners and professional programmers tried to find a solution to social and city problems.

Mentors performed:

Alexey Orlov, head of Hackspace SPB ;
Olga Polyakova, activist;
Evgeny Sofronov, designer.

Participants had to develop a project that would solve a social problem, or propose a new way of social interaction.

To create projects, most participants chose the Telegram platform due to the opportunity to quickly create bots. Participants in one project developed an application for Android.

The programmer from EPAM Sergey Romanov conducted a workshop to work with the GitHub service. This is the largest web service for hosting IT projects and their joint development. Based on the GIT version control system. The service is absolutely free for open source projects.

Khakaton Participants projects:

1. A map of free places for events in St. Petersburg. The incubator of useful projects “Sam” contains a base of friendly sites for events in the Google Table. Over the weekend, a map of Yandex.Cart was created , which visualizes the table data.

2. The site for the St. Petersburg movement Fudstering . Was created on the basis of the Tilda designer. The site will act as a visiting community card in front of partners.

3. The prototype of the application that encourages the townspeople to visit famous attractions. Contains the elements of gamification.

4. Bot for convenient distribution of Okara. Okara is cake, which remains in the production of soy cheese. This edible nutrient product is used in recipes for many dishes. The team implemented one of the possible scenarios of distribution and delivery of the product.

5. Telegram both for working with donors.

6. Bot for accounting for tasks on the household. Such a bot was created by participants living in coliving (from the English “coliving” - coworking and housing in one place).

Hakaton helped the participants find like -minded people, immerse themselves in the process of creative solutions to problems and testing hypotheses. The inspirational material for the participants was the Hackathon Guide site.
