
On October 21, 2017, in Veliky Novgorod, within the framework of the European Week of Programming and the MEET and CODE initiative, the HacATON “Social Innovation - 2017” was held. It was attended by representatives of the NGOs, social entrepreneurs, students and PR specialists.
First, Khakaton participants presented their projects and ideas to unite in six teams. IT specialists and experts joined each team who evaluated the work of the teams and helped them improve projects.

At the master classes on design management and fundraising, the participants learned:
“When we created the site, we had one vision, but today we understand exactly that we need to change a lot. I saw what mistakes I made, I was able to fix the shortcomings and have already finalized something. We must go further, make changes to the resource, ”said Vyshcherskaya Valeria, a member of the team to create a site for the Salvation charity foundation.

On Hakaton, work began on creating a platform for teaching schoolchildren using online refitation and helping in employment.
A group was also formed to create a course on teaching children to graphic design in an art school in a rural settlement of the Chudovsky district. Participants in the course will learn how to use basic programs and IT tools for coloring figures and work on a 3D printer.

Several participants of the workshop received proposals from experts on employment and promotion of their services.
Within a month, participants will meet, finalize projects in order to submit the results of their work on November 24 and 25, 2017 at the top conferences and Khakaton “Social Innovation - 2017”.
Meet and Code and the European programming week are an initiative that is designed to support educational measures on programming in different countries. Its goal is to interest children and youth with digital technologies. The event has been held since 2013 in different countries on the initiative of the European Commission.
In Russia, the MEET and CODE initiative was organized by SAP , a greenhouse of social technologies and TechSouP Europe .
