An activist of the Solidarity movement was beaten in St. Petersburg

Vladimir Shipitsin, a member of the Solidarity of St. Petersburg movement, was beaten in the front door of his house, according to the movement's social networks.

“Vladimir was returning home from a long trip. A man of about 35-40 years of age was waiting for him in the front door. Near the elevator, the attacker blinded the activist by spraying a dark-colored liquid from a spray can, beat him with brass knuckles, inflicting cut wounds, threw him to the floor and kicked him,” the report says.

During the beating, the assailant threatened Shipitsin that “next time it will be worse” if the activist does not stop writing “ * about good people.”

The victim said that no one knew about the time of his return to the city, therefore, in his opinion, the crime was planned in a “complicated way”.

Shipitsin is undergoing a medical examination and plans to file a complaint with law enforcement agencies about the attack.

As the movement clarifies, Shipitsin took part in protest actions in St. Petersburg against aggression against Ukraine, repressions against Crimean Tatars and in defense of political prisoners.

Earlier it became known about the death of the activist of the movement "Solidarity" Alexei Stroganov. According to politician Ilya Yashin, an unknown person hit Stroganov on the head with an iron pipe, causing the activist to fall into a coma.
