From October 27 to November 6, Moscow will be held in Moscow. The poster of the review is traditionally immense. The program director of the festival Maria Tereshchenko explains how to navigate in it and what exactly should be expected from the current festival.

In the center of the festival, as usual, two blocks that gathered the most new short animation are “winners” and “premiere”. “Winners” are five cartoons programs - winners of international animation and film festivals. Among them: the Oscar nominee “Pear Cydr and Cigarettes”, a puppet story about son-in-law love and collecting suitcases, which received a Grand Prix to Ansi, a surreal fantasy about a drunken badger at the wheel and an absurd joke about the search for God “On Wednesday with Godard”. In the “Premiere” block, there are new Russian cartoons, including an intellectual puzzle “9 ways to draw a person”, who revived Chinese poetry (“fish, swimmers, ships” of Dmitry Geller), anti -utopia about the future of the Russian Empire (“dangerous journey”) and an animated jam about a happy childhood (“take any time from childhood”). The theme of actual art is continued by the Dreams and Nightmares program, which collected strange, bizarre, psychedelic and surreal cartoons, documentary animation programs, as well as a new full -length cartoon of the American star Bill Plimpton Ottering.
