American film producer Harvey Weinstein has filed a lawsuit against The Weinstein Company, which he founded, from where he was fired due to allegations of sexual harassment and violence. It is reported by Reuters.
In the lawsuit, Weinstein is demanding information and documents he believes can protect him and the company from harm from unfair court decisions. In particular, the lawsuit mentions his correspondence, which, according to Weinstein, can rehabilitate him and the company, reports Reuters.
Weinstein also wants to find out whether his dismissal from the company was legal and whether employees passed on any confidential information to journalists.
The lawsuit was filed the day after The Weinstein Company was sued by actress Dominique Hewett, who told how the producer harassed her and forced her to have sex. Hewett claims that the company knew about the behavior of the producer, but did not prevent new cases of harassment.
