
The jury of the Russian Booker literary prize published a final list of contenders for the award in 2017.
Of the 75 authors admitted to the competition, six were six authors: Mikhail Gigolashvili (“Secret Year”), Igor Malyshev (“Nomes. Sparks of a large fire”), Vladimir Medvedev (Zakhkhok), Alexander Melikhov (“Detage with Quasimodo”), Alexander Nikolaenko (“Kill Bobrykin), Dmitry Novikov (Golominoye Plamy).
The prize laureate will be announced on December 5, it will be determined by the jury as part of the poet Alexei Purina, literary critic Artem Skvortsov, director of the Penza Regional Library of Marina Osipova, as well as the owners of the Russian Boker for the last two years, Peter Aleshkovsky (chairman of the jury) and Alexander Snegirev.
The winner of the competition will receive a prize of 1.5 million rubles. The remaining finalists will receive 150 thousand rubles.
