
Judge of the Basmann District Court of Moscow Arthur Karpov sent under house arrest the director of the Russian Academic Youth Theater Sofia Apfelbaum, accused of the Seventh Studio case. It is reported by "Mediazona".
Thus, Karpov satisfied the application of the investigation, deciding to support the accused under house arrest until December 26. The judge did not allow the walk.
Apfelbaum asked the court to choose a measure of restraint, not related to the restriction of freedom and not preventing work. The defender of the accused Irina Obrazenova asked to let go of the client on bail in the amount of one million rubles.
On the eve of the interrogation in the TFR, the Apfelbaum was detained . She was charged under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud on an especially large scale). Apfelbaum did not plead guilty.
Apfelbaum previously worked at the Ministry of Culture, including led the Department of State Support for Art and Folk Art. "According to investigators, having entered into a conspiracy with the artistic director of ANO" Seventh Studio "Serebrennikov, Apfelbaum in 2011-2014 on behalf of the Ministry of Culture of Russia signed an agreement on the provision of state subsidies in the amount of over 214 million rubles and ensured the subsequent coordination of the reporting documentation that contained the overstated information about the number and cost of the measures on the activities, which contributed to the theft of Serebrennikov and other persons of budget funds in the amount of at least 68 million rubles, ”the press service of the Investigative Committee said.
"The fault of the Apfelbaum in committing fraud on an especially large scale is confirmed by the testimony of witnesses, confrontations of confrontation, the results of operational -search activities seized during the investigation with financial documents and other evidence," the TFR said.
Before that, in the case of the Seventh Studio, Apfelbaum was a witness. On May 23, a search was carried out, and thenthe Apfelbaum was interrogated in the TFR .
The ex-producer ANO “Seventh Studio” Alexei Malobrodsky, ex-director Yuri Itin, former chief accountant of Nina Maslyaeva and the founder of the studio, director Kirill Serebrennikov, became the accused in the case. All of them were charged under part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code. The defendants do not admit the guilt, with the exception of the deal with the investigation of Maslyaeva.
Malobrodsky is in jail. Initially, it was kept in the "sailor silence." However, on Friday, lawyer Ksenia Karpinskaya said that her client was transferred to another institution. Protection and relatives do not yet know where Lesserobrodsky is now.
Serebrennikov, Itin and Maslyaeva are placed under house arrest. On October 17, Judge Karpov extended the deadlines for the suppression of all the defendants in the case until January 19.
Another accused, former executive producer Ekaterina Voronova, fled from the country and put on the international wanted list.
On September 16, it became known that the victims in the case were recognized by the Ministry of Culture . It was reported that the agency plans to file a civil lawsuit at the preliminary investigation stage with a request to compensate for the damage caused.
