The head of the Ministry of Education and Science Olga Vasilieva signed an order to preserve the doctor of the Medinsky degree of Doctor of Historical Sciences for the Minister of Culture, according to the website of the department.

"To refuse Kozlyakov Vyacheslav Nikolaevich, Yerusalimsky Konstantin Yuryevich, Babitsky Ivan Fedorovich (authors of a statement about the deprivation of the minister. - Ed.) In depriving the degree of the doctor of historical sciences of Medinsky Vladimir Rostislavovich," the document says.

The decision of the Ministry of Education and Science is the final stage in the dissertation of Medinsky.

The ministry was bursting with the Presidium of the Higher Certification Commission, which on October 20 recommended leaving Medinsky degree . 14 members of the Presidium voted for such a decision, six opposed, four abstained. Medinsky was present at the meeting of the Presidium, he recognized the existence of errors in his dissertation and said that at the beginning of the scandal around his work he was ready to voluntarily abandon the scientific degree.

After the Presidium of the dissertation of the Medinsky Expert Council on the History of the Higher Attestation Commission, which made the opposite decision, left its chairman Pavel Uvarov and Professor of the Higher Superior Oleg Budnitsky. New resignations of the Council members are expected.

On October 2, the expert voted for the deprivation of the Medine scientific degree . The official opinion of the Higher School experts said that in his work the minister did not open anything new. In addition, Medinsky stated in the dissertation that "Russia's national interests create an absolute standard of truth." According to experts, this contradicts the methodological principles of historical science. As experts noted, the minister enjoyed the translations of sources, and not by the originals, selectively quoted the annals. The expert council also doubted that Medinsky generally worked in the archives.

In addition, it turned out that there are several options for an abstract of the dissertation of Medinsky. In them, different scientists are indicated as opponents. The work of Medinsky was refused to consider the dissertation councils of the Ural State University and Moscow State University, then its scientific value was confirmed by the science of the Belgorod State University.
