Seven activists were detained in Cheboksary on October 29
In Cheboksary, on October 29, police detained seven activists from the Artvolga opposition group on the VKontakte social network. This was reported to OVD-Info by the organizer of the "walks of free people" and the "Occupy" actions in Cheboksary, Alena Blinova.
First, Mikhail Budarin, Elena Voevodina, Vasily Osipov and Oleg Khutoryansky were detained near the city hall. The reason for the detention was a single picket near the monument to Gagarin, which was conducted by Vyacheslav Rybakov. The police thought that four activists also took part in the picket, which means that this is no longer a single action.
Rybakov, who really stood in a single picket with a banner saying “We got it, on it,” was also detained. Administrative protocols were drawn up against him, Budarin and Voevodina under Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of the procedure for holding a public event). Osipov and Khutoryansky were released after giving written explanations.
According to Blinova, Rybakov is far from the first to commit such an offense and he has already been summoned to the Investigative Committee in connection with a criminal case under Art. 212.1 (repeated violations of the law on rallies), but one episode was not enough to initiate a criminal case.
Blinova herself was also detained. The police kept her at the police station for an hour and then released her.
Sergei Zakharov, a participant in the rally on October 7 in support of Alexei Navalny, was also detained. The police believe that on October 7, Zakharov showed an indecent gesture to the camera of a police operator. And in fact, Zakharov was detained allegedly for crossing the road in the wrong place. For the last offense, the activist was fined 500 rubles.
The police also came to the home of activist Rustem Gareev, but he refused to give an explanation and was not detained.
According to Blinova, such activity of the police was caused by an anonymous call that reported an uncoordinated rally near the monument to Gagarin.
