Baikal: Tourists found about 30 dead seals

In the village of New Enkhaluk in Buryatia, tourists noticed several dozen dead seals on the shores of Lake Baikal. On the bodies of animals, wounds were visible, quoted by the "KP-Irkut" eyewitnesses.

Ecologists have not yet established the exact cause of the mass death of the Baikal endemic - poachers or illness. It is not excluded that the seals hit the network and drowned when they could not get out.

In 2017, this is the second case of the mass death of the seal - in June, several dead seals were discovered on the shore of Lake Baikal in the village of Goryachinsk in the Baikal district of Buryatia.
