Primorye: The situation with fires worsens

The emergency mode was introduced in another area of Primorye - Olginsky, the administration of the region said . During the day, fire destroyed 50 hectares of forest here. The emergency was previously announced in the four districts of the region - Kavalerovsky, Chuguevsky, Terney and Dalnegorsk.

Today in Primorye 28 forest fires with a total area of over 3 thousand hectares are operating. In a day, fire destroys about 800 hectares of forest in the region.

The Minister of Natural Resources of Russia, Sergei Donskoy, demanded that the head of the Primorsky Territory Andrei Tarasenko prohibit local residents to visit the forests, noting that "untimely localization and elimination of fires indicates inefficient use of fire extinguishing forces."
