The trial of activist Rafael Gainutdinov was held behind closed doors

The trial of Artpodgotovka activist Rafael Gainutdinov in the Dzerzhinsky District Court of St. Petersburg was actually held behind closed doors, no one was allowed into the courtroom. The bailiffs refused to let the defender Dinar Idrisov even into the courthouse. The bailiffs explained their actions with a special order from the chairman of the Dzerzhinsky District Court. Dinar Idrisov told OVD-Info about this by phone.

At the same time, during the trial, Gainutdinov filed a petition for admission to the case of a defense lawyer who was waiting at the closed door of the building, but the judge rejected the petition.

UPD. 17:37 The court arrested Gainutdinov for ten days and imposed a fine of fifteen thousand rubles.

On October 31, Gainutdinov was again detained for taking part in a protest on October 7 on Palace Square in St. Petersburg. Earlier, he was fined ten thousand rubles and arrested for three days. On October 11, at the exit from the special detention center, the activist was again detained and accused of violating the rules for holding an event (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) because of a rally on Palace Square. He was arrested for nine days.

In addition, Idrisov was not allowed into the courthouse even to file a complaint against the court decision concerning his client and the fact that he himself was not allowed into the court.
