The court arrested 95 million rubles in the accounts of the former head of Russian Post

The Basmanny Court of Moscow imposed a security arrest on more than 95 million rubles, which are on the accounts of the former head of the Russian Post, Dmitry Strashnov.

This was done in the framework of the case against the head of the department of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications, Irina Lapteva, who is accused of exceeding her powers due to the payment of a bonus of 95 million rubles to Strashnov, Interfax reports.

As Interfax was told in the press service of the court, the arrest was made on August 31. Strashnov's representatives have already appealed this decision.

• Dmitry Strashnov headed the Russian Post from 2013 to the summer of 2017. During his work, a number of performance indicators of the institution have improved significantly - for example, in the first quarter of 2017, Russian Post took sixth place in the international express delivery rating, and in 2012 it ranked 140th.
• In 2016, the Prosecutor General's Office stated that a year earlier Strashnov had been illegally paid a bonus of 95.4 million rubles instead of 13.4 million. He himself did not become a defendant in the criminal case, but the case was opened against the head of the department of the Ministry of Communications, Irina Lapteva, who claimed the amount of his remuneration.
