Spain's National Court ordered the arrest of eight former members of the regional government of Catalonia, reports on Thursday, November 2, the newspaper El Pais .
The former vice-president of Catalonia Oreol Junqueras will also be taken into custody. Everyone, except counselor Santi Villa, was denied bail by the court. Villa can avoid imprisonment for €50,000. The prosecution also asked for a European arrest warrant for the former head of the Generalitat of Catalonia, Carles Puigdemont, who is now in Belgium.
On November 1, Puigdemont's lawyer announced that his ward would not come to Spain to testify in the case of state rebellion and embezzlement.
