
During the fire, which today, November 3, occurred in the department of personal collections of the State Museum of Fine Arts named after A.S. Pushkin (Mlime), artistic and material values were not affected.
This was stated by TASS as head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation in Moscow, Ilya Denisov. “Thanks to the actions of Moscow firefighters, the exhibits of the private collection in the museum were saved,” he said.
Smoke on the roof of the building of the private collections of the PLC appeared at about 15:00. According to the sources of Interfax , the fire, presumably, arose in the ventilation system, or insulation and glass wool lit up under the roof.
The fire area was about 40 sq.m, it was extinguished by more than 70 people and 20 units of equipment, visitors and museum staff were evacuated.
The fire was liquidated at 16:03. According to the Ministry of Emergencies, there are no victims.
“The roof is opened, measures are being taken to remove the smoke and pour the insulation in order to prevent re -fire,” explained the head of the Ministry of Emergencies in Moscow.
