This female album , where Tverskaya, mainly social democratic was, youth recorded political and not at all political initiations to its mistress, Stef Sherling, survived the October Revolution, repression, war, numerous crossings. He experienced a monstrous in the scale of changes, events, and atrocities of the century.
Stefa Sherling was a friend of my grandmother, Lyuba Katz-Kagan, surprisingly preserving this album-a unique document that testifies to the tremendous enthusiasm and euphoria, which were full of young provincial intellectuals after the February Revolution. What awaited those people who made notes on these pages are scary to think. But, in any case, the fate of one of them, who wrote Stef, the freedom -loving quatrains with the calligraphic handwriting of the architect, I know: my grandfather David Traub died in the village of Komi Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic in 1946, without having to be released for several days. His fate is not an exception, and the ominous rule of the large harvest, which began when the album was filled to the end.
Remember the day of February 27, 1917 (the first day of the Russian revolution). This great historical day will not happen again. Whether the conquests will be strengthened or the conquered will be lost again, let the memory of this day live in your mind, like a bright life -giving sunny day after a long gloomy gloomy weather. This day is worth life ...
Meer,
March of the 27th day of 1917
My neighbor is a great philosopher, / that neither the word is a council, / and for every sharpness / will certainly give an answer. / I asked him once: / - For the need, Il for beauty / on the chest under the very heart / Women's watches worn? / And with a poisonous smile / there was such an answer: /-let at least something beat, / where nothing beats.

Russia was sleeping for many years by a nightmare and drunken dream. Sometimes she woke up, jumped up, looked around with a muddy and puzzled look, turned to the other side and fell asleep again. But Russia woke up completely. I woke up and went forward with a vigorous and cheerful step. Remained behind the picture of the philistine. There is no more fateful sleepy loan of the Russian Empire. There is a free citizen. There is no prohibition of thinking, a trim, a formidable boss and a stupid, trembling layman.
The freedom of conscience has been proclaimed. The path to science and art is open to everyone. Using the knowledge that has now become accessible to us, we, the younger generation, will now become architects who will create free Russia.
Remember that you, as a woman and a Jew, have only now got the opportunity to attach your work to the benefit of the people.
Forward, a free citizen, forward for Russia, our homeland.
N. Kats-Kagan, April 19, 1917

The city of Tver after the revolution: are still alive and full of illusions. Young man and girl on the left - grandfather and grandmother, keepers of the album
Remember, Stef, the words of the great socialist: "The future belongs to a woman and a worker!"
How happy we should be, Stefa, who have become free citizens, only having entered into life, only starting to live, and how grateful should be those who put their lives in the struggle for holy freedom.

Remember how Pechorin once said: "I feel immense strength!" It would be nice if each of us, free citizens, said the same, especially on such great days!
Especially from you, dear Stefa, wants to hear these words "neighbor" in the desk of Maroussia.
Spit on everything and take care of your health!

Life is a dream. I wish you a pleasant sleep!
Above the free thought of God are objectionable / violence and oppression, / She, born for centuries, is free, / will not die in the shackles.

I want roses, roses of bright and red, / I want gaze of hot and passionate, / and roses, like lips and lips, and lips, like roses, / luxury and beckoning, and burning like mimosa / ... I want roses, roses pale and spicy, / I want caresses, obscure, foggy, / those caresses without the end, without starting to start, so that everything is shut up ...

For memory of Mila Stef
The girl’s heart is noisy street;/ The girl’s heart is a shining temple;/ The girl’s heart is a scientific book;/ Collection of songs, comedies and dramas. / The girl’s heart is wavy fairy tale, / The girl’s heart is a bright dawn. / This heart is praise prayer, / This heart is a broken verse. / The girl’s heart is a spark of a blown, / dark forest and a transparent stream. / The girl’s heart is a closed box office, / from which there are a lot of keys.
Lisa, Tver, 1917, October 7
You ask, Stefa, how many times I changed my political beliefs - alas, to my shame, there are a lot, but now I can proudly say: only the words are heard for me now: “You will find your right in the struggle!”

The best remedy for freckles is to smear your head with a charms (a magazine for housewives or for women - I don’t remember exactly).
