In Kazan, at a rally in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Constitution of Tatarstan, an activist of the Tatar national movement Airat Shakirov was detained. This was reported by Idel. Realities".

The police considered that Shakirov, speaking at the rally, in his speech deviated from the declared topic of the action and, together with the Constitution, began to talk about the Maidan.

I said that the youth in the villages are very unhappy with the reduction of the Tatar language and that if someone goes to the Maidan, they will definitely come.

The record of an administrative offense drawn up against the activist was not given to him, so he does not know under which article of the Code of Administrative Offenses it was drawn up.

Shakirov was released after the paperwork was completed. The trial is to take place tomorrow.

In October, Shakirov's house was searched in connection with the criminal case against the All-Tatar Public Center (VTOC). A rally in honor of the constitution was also organized by the WTOTS.

In May 2017, Shakirov was fined for posting a video from a rally in Makhachkala in 2013 on his VKontakte page. The court immediately released him from liability due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.

In January 2015, Shakirov was arrested for ten days for two images in support - a collage and a cartoon with a swastika. The caricature, where a man with a whip drives a swastika from Donbass, was accompanied by the inscription "Russia, go home". The judge in the ruling pointed out that the association of the swastika with Russia is unacceptable.
