Those detained on November 5 in St. Petersburg, who were allegedly found with weapons, were released from the police

Those detained on the way to Smolny, to whom FSB officers allegedly planted a revolver, explosives and a grenade in their car, were released from the 78th police department with an undertaking not to leave the place. Fontanka reports this.

A written undertaking not to leave was taken from Mikhail Voitenkov, Ilyaz Minikaev and Diana Retinskaya. They were detained on November 5 in a Suzuki Jimny, during which investigators found grenades, a revolver and Molotov cocktails. Earlier it was reported that the police accused them of “preparing for a terrorist act” (Article 205 of the Criminal Code). The activists themselves claim that all this was planted on them.

Human rights activist Dinar Idrisov shared the same opinion in a conversation with OVD-Info. According to him, the detainees contacted him immediately after they were stopped by the police, and in conversation with him they remained calm and did not get nervous, that is, their behavior was not similar to the behavior of people who were caught with weapons.

Fontanka writes that Voitenkov, Minikaev and Retinskaya were suspects in the case of illegal possession of weapons and ammunition (Article 222 of the Criminal Code).

UPD. On November 10, Lawyer Valentin Pyshkin, representing the interests of Minikaev, told Mediazona that a criminal case was opened on the basis of possession of weapons by a group of persons (Part 1 of Article 35, Part 2 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code).

UPD 15.50: Ilyaz Minikaev was taken away in a patrol car after he left the temporary detention center, reports Mikhail Lebedev from the Detainees Assistance Group in St. Petersburg. He believes that Minikaev was taken back to the 78th police department.
