The transition of high -ranking special services to work in the state corporation is widely practiced in Russia. So, the former deputy head of the FSB Office Oleg Feoktistov, for some time, held the position of Vice President of Rosneft. In mid -November 2016, the name of Feoktistov was mentioned in connection with the detention of the head of the Ministry of Education Alexei Ulyukaev, against whom the case of bribery was discovered. It was reported that it was this security officer that initiated the persecution of the minister . It was also argued that he personally participated in "operational-technical events."
However, in early March 2017, information appeared that Feoktistov was fired both from Rosneft and the FSB . The reasons for this were not reported. A few days later, the head of the oil company Igor Sechin partially confirmed this information . He stated that the general left the state -owned company and returned "to military service." The dismissal of Feoktistov was documented only a month later, after the meeting of the board of directors of Rosneft, on April 5. August 29, it became known that Feoktistov was retired.
