Serebrennikov’s property was arrested

The Basmann District Court of Moscow arrested the property of the director Kirill Serebrennikov, accused of fraud in the case of the Seventh Studio. This is reported by Interfax. The decision was made on October 11, but the press service of the court announced it only a month later.

The apartment, a car and bank accounts on which are over 360 thousand rubles, more than 60 thousand euros and more than 4 thousand dollars are arrested.

Then, on October 11, the property of another person involved in the case, the former general director of the Seventh Studio, Yuri Itin, was also seized. This is more than 80 thousand dollars, 5 thousand euros and gold products.

Decisions were made as interim measures in a civil lawsuit against defendants. The Ministry of Culture previously stated the intention to file a lawsuit about compensation for damage to damage.

The case of the Seventh Studio became known at the end of May. It is qualified under part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code (fraud on an especially large scale), which provides for up to 10 years of the colony. According to the plot of the case, in 2011-2014, the Ministry of Culture allocated to Serebrennikov over 214 million rubles for the implementation of the Platform project, launched for the development and popularization of contemporary art. To embody the project, the director formed an autonomous non -profit organization "Seventh Studio".

However, the TFR says, Serebrennikov gave other defendants an indication of overstating data on the quantity and cost of events. Also, the agency claims, the director instructed to ensure the conclusion of the Seventh Studio with firms and private entrepreneurs controlled by him, including one-day companies, and fictitious agreements for the implementation of the Platform project. The funds transferred under these agreements were allegedly cashed and distributed by Serebrennikov between the defendants.

The total amount of theft, which was charged to the director and other accused, is, according to the TFR, at least 68 million rubles.

In addition to Serebrennikov and Itina, several more defendants in the case. This is the former chief accountant of the Seventh Studio Nina Maslyaeva, former general producer of the same association Alexei Malobrodsky, former executive producer Ekaterina Voronova and director of the Russian Academic Youth Theater, and a former head of the Ministry of Culture of Sofya Apfelbaum.

Voronova fled the country, and the case against it was allocated to separate production. Malobrodsky was imprisoned in a pre -trial detention center. Itin, Serebrennikov and Apfelbaum at different times were sent under house arrest. Also, under house arrest, Maslyaev was transferred from the pre -trial detention center after she testified against herself and other accused.

In addition to Maslyaeva, none of the defendants in the case pleads guilty.
