The commission, led by Denis Oswald, found Alexei Petukhov, Maxim Vylegzhanin, Evgeny Shapovalov and Julia Ivanov. At the Olympics in Sochi, Vyglezhanin took the second places in the 50 km race, a relay and team sprint.

On November 1, the IOC Commission for life disqualified Russian skiers Alexander Legkov and Evgeny Belov for the use of doping at the 2014 Winter Olympiad in Sochi. The results of Legkov and Belov in competitions are canceled. Golkova was obliged to return the gold medal awarded for the races of 50 kilometers, and the silver - for the baton. The Olympic Committee of Russia has an obligation to control the execution of the decision.

On December 9, 2016, an independent expert of the World Anti -Doping Agency Richard McLaren presented the second part of the report prepared for WADA. The investigation showed that over 1,000 Russian athletes in almost 30 types of Olympic and Paralympic sports were involved in the doping program of Russia.

After that, the IOC announced the start of the investigation against 28 Russian athletes participating in the Games in Sochi.

On December 22, the Doping Commission of the International Ski Federation (FIS), after studying the report of McLaren, was removed by Lygov, Belov, Vyglezhanin, Petukhov, Ivanov and Shapovalov. The decision was made unanimously. During the disqualification, athletes cannot take part in any competitions , both national and international.
