A resident of Kaliningrad was arrested due to messages in a closed chat on Telegram

On November 7, the Central District Court of Kaliningrad arrested taxi driver Alexander Petrovsky for messages on Telegram. This was reported by New Kaliningrad with reference to lawyer Rostislav Kulikov.

Petrovsky is accused of public calls for terrorism via the Internet (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code). According to investigators, the man, being the administrator of the closed Telegram chat “Revolution - Kaliningrad,” allegedly called on the participants in the conversation to protest.

The intelligence service calls Petrovsky a supporter of Artpodgotovka. In his petition, the investigator mentioned the message “Move to the barricades” and the phrase “Molotov cocktail.” Kulikov believes that these quotes are taken out of context - it does not follow from them that we are talking about real barricades or incendiary grenades.

The defense lawyer said that at the meeting the investigator was unable to answer the question about the difference between a Molotov cocktail and a Daiquiri cocktail (alcoholic drink). According to Kulikov, Petrovsky “fell a victim of statistics.”

Petrovsky was detained by employees of the Center for Countering Extremism in a parking lot on November 5. On that day, arrests took place throughout Russia in connection with the “revolution” promised by politician Vyacheslav Maltsev. A total of 448 people were detained .
