The first trolleybus appeared on the streets of Novosibirsk in 1957. Only 10 cars went along the route connecting the city airport and the bus station. Now in the regional center-about 300 trolleybuses, the press service of the Legislative Assembly of the region reports.
Gorelektrotransort today is working on updating the trolleybus park, expanding the route zone and the introduction of autonomous trolleybuses.
“The sixtieth anniversary of the movement of trolleybuses in Novosibirsk is an unusual, bright holiday,” said Elena Tyrina, deputy chairman of the committee on transport, industrial and information policy. - A trolleybus, of course, needs such a metropolis as Novosibirsk: it is economical transport, this is environmentally friendly transport, this is what is responsible for modernity. Of course, there are problems of electric vehicles - this is the capital underfinance of the industry and the wear of the park. I really want to wish us all the development of trolleybus traffic, new routes, an increase in passenger flow. And all of us - to be polite passengers. ”
Electric transport is valued by the vice speaker of the regional parliament Valery Ilyenko.
“Such holidays are needed so that those people who work at the enterprise know that they are in demand. To know who created this industry, who preserves it today. I am convinced that electric vehicles are the future of the city of Novosibirsk,-the press service of the Legislative Assembly quoted his words. - We need a new rolling stock, new lines. We have a lot of new microdistricts, and it is necessary to hold new routes there. Tomorrow's prospect for the city of Novosibirsk as part of passenger transport is, of course, trolleybuses and trams, which are given great attention today. This year, the regional budget allocated 100 million rubles for the production of trams by the Novosibirsk-Belarusian joint venture. These six trams are already working on city routes, before the end of the year there should be 12. ”
