Ksenia Sobchak came to the rally. The video of her performance is available on the link . It is accompanied by the whistle of those present and the cries of "Down with!".
In her speech, Ksenia noted that her father Anatoly Sobchak participated in the foundation of the university in St. Petersburg: “I think that today he would also be here and also supported the rally.”
- What is happening with one of the best humanitarian universities in the country is a real shame. This should not be. I am opposed to this and I urge everyone to oppose this.
“These wonderful people come to your rallies and try to spoil us,” Sobchak commented on a whistle and screams. At the beginning of the performance, she called them “nurses” and “other provocateurs”.
In EU, “Paper” said that Sobchak was booing of left -wing views (they also shouted “Down with the power of the rich!”). Some of them participated in the organization of the rally.
- If we are in defense of education and science, then, first of all, we must understand that everyone can speak out. We had a declared list of speakers, and I am against us let someone speak out, but to someone.
The rally is organized by students and teachers of city universities and osuzov, activists of initiative groups, as well as representatives of the Teacher, University Solidarity and Discourse trade unions.
In September, Rosobrnadzor refused EU to issue a license. The department found that the conditions for the training of people with disabilities are not provided in the building where the university should move. EU was evicted from the Palace of Kushelev-Bezborodko by terminating the lease. In October, the European University submitted to Rosobrnadzor a new package of documents for an educational license.
