My book

Dear friends! I have a joyful event.

My first book on the history of wooden architecture in the city of Orel has been published. It contains everything that I have accumulated to date on this local history topic that I love. I tried to talk in the easiest and most accessible form about what the main features of Oryol wooden houses and their various details are: verandas, dormers, window frames, platbands, etc. A significant part of the book is devoted to how the carved decoration of Oryol’s wooden buildings was influenced by architectural styles and the main carved motifs and ornaments characteristic of Oryol house carvings.

In addition to the text, the book contains more than 120 color illustrations, including archival photographic materials and author's photographs. As well as several explanatory diagrams, a dictionary of terms and a list of relevant literature.
