Sechin did not appear in court
The head of Rosneft, Igor Sechin, did not come to court to testify in the case against ex-Minister of Economic Development Alexei Ulyukaev. Judge Larisa Semenova explained that summons to Sechin were sent by telegram, fax and bailiff, Interfax reports .
“For what reason the summonses were not received, the court does not know,” Semenova specified. Meanwhile, Ulyukaev's lawyers reported that Rosneft refused to accept a subpoena for Sechin.
Earlier, the press secretary of Rosneft, Mikhail Leontiev , stated that Sechin had not received the summons . The Russian Post stated that the summons was delivered on Friday, within the deadline.
At the end of the meeting on November 13, the court summoned Sechin again for questioning.
The court granted the request to summon Sechin at the previous hearing in the case on November 8. According to the prosecution, as a minister, Ulyukayev extorted $2 million from Sechin for a positive assessment that allowed Rosneft to acquire the state-owned stake in Bashneft.
