The Kremlin does not intend to change its position on the study of national languages ​​in the schools of the republics of Russia, RBC reports . They must be studied voluntarily, exceptions will not be made for any of them.

“Everything will be in accordance with the law - national languages ​​are studied on a voluntary basis. This rule is for all national republics, there will be no exceptions to anyone,” the federal official said and confirmed the source close to the presidential administration.

Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov to the question of RBC, whether the federal center really does not intend to change the opinion regarding the voluntary principle of studying national languages ​​in schools, replied: "Yes. Really."

The Ministry of Education and Science did not give the authorities of Tataria guarantees for the preservation of the obligatory Tatar language in the school schedule, another federal official told the publication. Therefore, the department refrained from commenting on the statements of the President of the Republic of Rustam Minnikhanov and the Minister of Education of the Republic of Tatarstan Engel Fattakhov, he said. The Ministry of Education and Science will support the Kremlin’s position, the source emphasized.

Meanwhile, the head of the Komi Republic Sergey Gaplykov suspended the order on the abolition of the mandatory study of the Komi language in schools, Kommersant reports . He instructed the Ministry of Education of the Republic to finalize the order in the new edition.

"The issues of studying the native and state languages ​​of the Komi Republic must be approached wisely and balanced. Today, responsible members of the government of the republic are consulting with the pedagogical community, prosecutor's office, public organizations, experts, the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia. A number of proposals have been received, time and public feedback are needed to study," Gaplikov noted.

On November 3, Fattakhov signed methodological recommendations in which a mandatory study of the Tatar language in schools is provided. In the document, the subject "Native Language and Native Literature" is divided into two parts: Actually "native language and native literature" and "Tatar language (state language of the Republic of Tatarstan)." The explanatory note to the recommendations said that as the state language of the Tatar language is obligatory to study from 1st to 9th grades, and as a native-optional.

On November 5, the Tataria prosecutor’s office called the “republican Ministry of Education and Science” not relevant to the federal legislation . The supervisory department said that the Prime Minister of Tataria Alexei Pesoshin would be submitted with the demand to immediately withdraw the adopted document, and officials who "committed the identified violations of the legislation" to disciplinary liability.

On November 8, at the hearings in the State Council of Tataria, Minnikhanov supported the mandatory teaching of the Tatar language and in the schools of the republic. He assured that not a single Tatar language teacher will be fired.

In his speech, Fattakhov actually repeated the provisions of the methodological recommendations signed by him. He called the decision “compromise”, explaining that it would simultaneously allow, firstly, to bring the amount of studying the Russian language to the recommended by Moscow, and secondly, to ensure, at the request of the parents, the study of their native language, and thirdly, to maintain a mandatory study of the Tatar, albeit in smaller volumes.

In recent days, Fattakhov noted, the leadership of Tataria discussed this option with the administration of the President of Russia. In addition, according to the official, the head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science Olga Vasilieva has already expressed its readiness to support such a decision. Further hearings were postponed until the completion of all conciliation procedures with Moscow.
