A defendant in the “March 26 Case” was transferred to a colony in the Volgograd region

Stanislav Zimovets, a defendant in the March 26 Case, was transferred to IK-12, Volgograd Region, in the city of Volzhsky. This was reported on the “Tales for Political Prisoners” page on Facebook with reference to Zimovets’ lawyer Svetlana Sidorkina.

In July, Zimovets was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison under Article 318 of the Criminal Code (violence against a police officer). The prosecution asked for three years in prison.

According to investigators, Zimovets threw a fragment of a brick at a National Guard employee and then disappeared into the crowd. According to the accused himself, he tried to help the protesters, who, in his opinion, were being harshly dispersed by the police.

• In Moscow, 1,043 people were detained - more than during the rally on Bolotnaya Square. After the dispersal of the protests on March 26, nine people in three cities became involved in criminal cases. Five people have already received sentences ranging from one and a half years probation to three years and eight months in a general regime colony.
• The Tverskoy District Court is considering the case of another defendant in the March 26 Case, Dmitry Borisov.
