Robert Mugabe goes on hunger strike

Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has been refusing to eat since Saturday, November 18, The Daily Mail claims, citing sources close to his family.

Mugabe also refuses to talk to anyone. According to the publication, the hunger strike is a symbol of protest against what is happening in the country. Mugabe himself is still under house arrest at his residence and does not appear in public.

On November 19, Mugabe, 93, is expected to meet General Constantino Chiwenga, who ordered the Zimbabwean president to be in custody. They should discuss the issue of Mugabe's resignation from the presidency of Zimbabwe, as demanded by the ruling party of Zimbabwe.

Earlier on November 19, it became known that a coup had taken place in the ruling party. Mugabe was removed from leadership and demanded that he resign no later than noon on Monday, November 20. In case of refusal, it is planned to announce impeachment.
