The headliner of the forty -third output of the program "Music at Free" is the Estonian singer Tynis Myagi, who once proudly shone on the Soviet pop sky, like a medal. Rock Critic Artemy Troitsky explains how the performer of frivolous hits turned into a major master of the song of civilian sound.
I did not have to go far beyond the materials of today's issue of the program, since I live mostly, except for the numerous travels and sorties, in the city of Tallinn. And nearby, in the small resort town of Elva in the south of the country, Tynis Myagi lives, and this name is in any case, those who remember the 70s and 80s, is familiar. Tynis Myagi - a popular pop singer (along with Jaak Joala , were two Estonian nightingale in the late Soviet Union), who collected crowded concert halls, had a loud success on television and radio, sang hito songs that the famous Moscow and Leningrad composers wrote for him. David Tukhmanov, for example, composed for Tynis meagi the pop action movie Olympiad-80 and the heartbreaking hat “Stop music”, the late Viktor Reznikov wrote for the Estonian performer the composition “My Yard”, Vladimir Shainsky-the song “Detective” ...

However, no matter how the Soviet estrous was opened, Tninis Myagi did not become a banal poppy vocalist. When the artist finally escaped to the operational scope, he began to record his own albums with his own music, which was very different from the songs that we used to execute. Not so long ago, an album-collar, which is called the "unknown tynis Myagi", and just this unknown, in any case, the Russian listener, I would like to introduce you now. These records will go in chronological order. Let's start with the first copyright album "Tninis" of 1990 and a song called "New Jerusalem". The singer is accompanied by the group "777".
Myaga stopped touring in the expanses of the Soviet Union in 1987: he was tired of it, and he had to drink a lot, and in general he was already very tired and did not quite understand why all this plowing (I just retold the content of our conversations with Tynis). His money was also stopped to such an extent, so he returned to his homeland to join the song and political movement. There was such a story in Estonia entitled “The Singing Revolution” - when up to 300 thousand people gathered on a singing field in Tallinn and they sang national songs, old hymns, a new freedom -loving rock, and all this went in the direction that the guys became an independent country - which happened in 1991.

Now in line - 2003, when Tynis Myagi came out the next album, 13 years after Tynis, called Sirius. This plate is not at all pop, it is almost progressive rock. And from the album "Sirius" let's listen to the song "Mandarin's Day" now.
I will return to the beginning of the career of Tynis. He was born in 1948, began to play in a rock band at the age of 17, the group was called "Yunioride". Then there was a group "Rutmikud", 1966. Then he served two years in the Soviet Army, then performed in the ensembles of Baltika, Lyne, and so on. It was then, in the late 70s, he was noticed by Soviet composers, desperately looking for alternatives to Joseph Kobzon and Lev Leshchenko. A young, long -haired, with a hoarse blues voice and a slight accent, Tynis for this role approached perfectly. We continue to get acquainted with his discography. The fifth album was released in 2006, was recorded with a group called 2Teist, and this album was also called. The composition TSIRKUSES.
Tynis Myagi had many accompanied groups. Probably the most famous of them is Muusik Seif , whose album in 1983 was released even at the Firm of Melody. The second most duration of work in her Tynis Myagi group is Ultima Thule , led by the most beautiful guitarist Richo Sibul. With Ultima Thule, Tynis Myagi continues to perform to this day - that is, probably for 20 years. Myagia spent the last concert tour in Russia in 1987, after that he performed in this country only four times, three times in St. Petersburg, once in Moscow at the collection of the Retro FM concert, and sang live, as it always does. The next composition is the "sculptor" from the sixth album of Tynis Myagi, the production of 2011. The album is called (I propose one of the possible translations) "stone laughter".
In addition to the fact that the Myagi sings, he is also a rather active public figure: in particular, he entered the Green Party in the beginning of the zero years, and in many ways this party went to parliament. If we talk about the musical style of Tynis Myagi, then he, of course, is not a rocker, he is rather a singer in Soul style. He is also close to a romance, he loves songs where you can show a voice and to extremely reveal your feelings. About this spirit - the final song in today's program performed by Tynis Myagi, recorded specifically for the collection "Unknown Tynis Myagi". This is the work of 2015 with the Estonian composer and electrician Sven Grunberg, it is called Condor.
