Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe said on state television that he would remain president despite the pressure exerted on him, Interfax reports .
Mugabe acknowledged the issues raised at the meeting with the military. According to him, the intervention of the military in political life was "caused by their vision of the state of affairs in our country and in the ruling party." The President of Zimbabwe called on the country to "return to normal life."
Mugabe also commented on the actions of the ZANU-PF party, which removed him from his post as leader. He stated that the party must abide by strict rules. He promised to head the party congress, which will be held in December.
“We gave Robert Mugabe a chance at a decent exit. But he is crazy, ”the party responded to such statements.
